When you first start practicing healing with other people, it’s easy to assume you should say ‘yes’ to anyone who’s interested in receiving a session. After all, you’re trying to gain experience and confidence. You may simply feel grateful that someone is willing to let you practice with them. Even experienced healers can fall into the habit of working with whoever happens to show up. But here’s an essential lesson I learned early in my career: you don’t have to work with everyone. You’re allowed to choose who you work with. One of the things I noticed early on about working with healing clients is that certain patterns emerge. When I first started doing healing work, I went through a period of about six months when I attracted one client after another with back problems. Lower back pain, upper back pain, injuries, surgeries and chronic pain that no one had been able to diagnose. My wife Mamiko saw her own client themes emerge. For several years she attracted women in Japan who wanted to receive healing related to finding a romantic partner, husband or soulmate. Patterns like these often carry messages. Sometimes your higher self and the Universe are helping you see a bigger picture or gain an important insight. It may be relevant to your own life, or it may help you develop greater knowledge and understanding as a healer. For Mamiko and me, that clarity was this: We are free to choose the kind of people we want to work with. Just because someone asks you for a healing doesn’t mean you have to say ‘yes.’ You are allowed to become clear about the kinds of clients and healing experiences you want to attract. You get to choose. About 15 years ago, Mamiko and I did exactly that. We decided that we only wanted to attract clients and students who resonated with our work, who valued what we offered, and who were kind, friendly and appreciative. Then we did a simple ceremony together. I think we lit some incense and a candle. We may even have used a couple of crystal bowls. It wasn’t elaborate, and the whole thing lasted less than five minutes. We got into a meditative state and made our request to the Universe out loud. That’s it. That single request has brought us wonderful people ever since. Even today, we consistently attract kind, loving and appreciative clients and students who genuinely resonate with what we share. It doesn’t matter whether you have a professional healing practice, or you’re hoping to attract your first paying client, or you simply want to find the right people to practice or exchange healings with. You can make your own request to the Universe. Create a simple ceremony that feels meaningful to you. Then express your desire and intention sincerely, clearly and from your heart. There’s no special wording you need to use. Find the words that feel true for you. And here's an important tip: Make your request in the positive. Don’t focus your attention on the people or experiences you don’t want. Remember, the Universe gives you more of whatever you focus on, so place your attention on the people you want to work with and the experiences you want to create. This is the way the law of attraction works. Working with other people doesn’t mean we have to leave those experiences to the randomness of the world. We’re allowed to become clear about what we want, make conscious choices, and ask the Universe to deliver those choices. You’re allowed to choose the clients you want to attract. It really is that simple. In love and light, P.S. Keep an eye on your inbox! I’ll be sharing important announcements about the Lemurian Healing™ Practitioner Certification Course in the next couple of days. |

If you’re a healer, have you ever tried to pin down exactly what's missing in your healing work? Maybe you've told yourself it's confidence. Or more practice. Or a totally new modality. Maybe you've wondered if it's a level of spiritual development you haven't yet reached. In nearly 20 years of teaching Lemurian Healing, I've watched student after student search for that missing piece, whether they're just starting out or already have years of client work behind them. And the answer is rarely...
That's a reasonable question, especially since most healing modalities are based on working with invisible energy. But there's a more common question that comes up quietly with almost every healing student I've ever worked with. Am I psychic enough to actually do this work? Do I need to be seeing visions or hearing messages from someone's guides to be a good healer? I know exactly where that question comes from because I've asked myself the same thing many times over the years. During my very...
When I first learned energy healing, I thought I understood what it was. It was about improving or getting rid of issues in the physical body. I worked with people who had chronic illnesses, people going through chemotherapy and radiation, people recovering from surgery, people who had been seriously injured in car crashes, and people dealing with everyday aches and pains. That was the world of healing as I knew it. Then my understanding began to change... I remember working with a patient in...
